Why We Took Time to Work ON Our Business (and You Should Too)

how to grow your small business

Sometimes, a little pause creates your biggest momentum.

We get it...when client work is flowing, it’s easy to stay in the weeds. Deadlines, meetings, revisions, more deadlines… it never stops. But if you never carve out time to work ON your business (instead of always in it), things can start to feel a little stuck. And honestly...sometimes, a bit stale.

Earlier this year, we made the intentional (and slightly scary) choice to slow things down. We paused taking on new projects, cleared the decks, and gave ourselves permission to spend two solid months doing the kind of deep work we usually put on the back burner: refining systems, growing our team, tightening up workflows, rethinking how we deliver our services, and investing in our own brand visibility.

The result? We came back clearer, stronger, and more confident in how we serve our clients. Behind the scenes, we updated processes, improved timelines, and even rolled out new offers to better support the people we love working with most.

It wasn’t always easy though.

Hitting pause when you’re booked feels counterintuitive.

But the truth is, growth doesn’t only happen when you’re hustling 24/7.

Sometimes the smartest move you can make is stepping back long enough to see what needs attention, what needs fixing, and what needs to evolve.

So if your own business has been quietly asking for a tune-up....maybe it’s time. Whether it’s rebuilding your website, realigning your brand, reworking your packages, or just giving yourself some space to think bigger 👏🏻 Permission to work ON your business, because that's a superpower too.

And if you’re feeling stuck? We get it. That’s exactly the kind of work we love helping our clients move through.

If you’re ready for a real refresh 👉 brand, website, or creative direction, we’re ready when you are.
